Personal/Career Transition and Job
Search Skills
Keys to a Successful Transition
Many organizations desire to retain their workforce but cannot
establish their own employee development centers. We can offer
an array of workshops that will help train, develop, and retain
their workforce. In addition, in this period of mergers, restructuring,
reorganizations and downsizing, we can help transition their
employees by addressing the employees real concerns, and help
them develop their personal and career plan. Transition Matters®
has also developed a series of workshops that will help the
employees refocus their career and life plan.
Finding Your Niche During Change
Many times as organizations restructure, downsize, or merge
functions, employees are faced with career decisions as a result.
By helping employees make informed career choices, you strengthen
internal capability and empower all employees with the tools
to plan their future. Managers are left with employees who have
an assorted set of skills and employees that may not fit the
organization. There is a need to assess the skill set of the
remaining employees in an organization to regain productivity,
morale, and teamwork. Through the GREAT MAP® Program and
a process of evaluation of the employee's assets, abilities,
competencies, desires and temperament we can guide an organization
through the stages of transitional change. The focus is to develop
a team relationship with the right skills mix to effectively
meet organizational realignment and goals.
Life Transitions - The GREAT MAP® Program
A two-day workshop based on effectively managing one's transition
through proactivity, goals-setting, and planning. This workshop
will also focus on how to take responsibility for your career
and your life, and developing win-win scenarios in the workplace
and elsewhere. The keys fold into the steps necessary for a
proper job search. It is recommended that one take this workshop
before Job Search Skills.
Letting Go of Holding on - Individual Transition in Organizations
Reorganization. Downsizing. Re-engineering. New technology...new
strategies...new rules...new leaders. It feels like a page from
Alice in Wonderland. Constant change has made everyday planning
difficult and long range planning almost impossible. What will
happen with life, as you know it right now...will it exist in
the future as it does now? You can't count on anything anymore
- except change itself. Employees experiencing downsizing often
go through the same stages of loss that are described in Kubler-Ross's
book "On Death and Dying". You travel through denial,
anger and finally acceptance. This workshop will help you understand
the stages as characterized in the Change Cycle Series™
and gain insight so that you are better prepared to deal with
downsizing.
This two-day workshop, through William Bridges and the Change
Cycle™ model, will show participants practical ways to
deal successfully with the transitions that they face. It is
intended for individual employees whose roles, careers and lives
are being affected by change.
After Downsizing - The Survivors
What is left behind? The employees not touched by the downsizing
will undergo feelings of relief, guilt, exasperation, anxiety,
and anger. Employees will be left with smaller staffs and more
work. They will also experience a sense of insecurity for fear
of being next. It would be to an organization's benefit
to parlay these negative feelings into positive steps and become
a healthier environment. This one-day workshop will help employees
cope and prepare them to meet future needs of the organization
while dealing with the aftermath of downsizing.
Mid-Career Options
Many of us are mid-way through our careers and haven't
really stopped to think about the final destination. We cover

assessment tools and financial goal-setting. Through a customized
GREAT MAP™ Program participants are provided the personal,
career and financial aspects of transition to make informed
decisions midway through their careers.
Retirement Options
EARLY-OUT - BUT NOT DOWN AND OUT!
SHOULD I TAKE THE BUY-OUT?
RETIREMENT - BUT NOT FOREVER!

or retirement issues such as the fears that one will experience,
the prospect of a career change, and the financial planning
needed to make this important decision. We will provide the
tools to make an educated and informed decision. The staff of
Transition Matters™ are former government and corporate
employees who have been through the same questions and encountered
the same fears.

in today's world for those people over 50, or who will be 50

to deal with these issues.
